#56: Contact Lens Cases
Many are aware of the risks associated with using expired contact lenses, understanding they can lead from minor irritation to severe blindness due to contamination, similar to eye drops. The periodic replacement of contact lens cases to avoid such dire consequences is equally crucial, though often overlooked.
Following the American Optometric Association’s guidance, it’s recommended to replace your contact lens case every three months. Ensuring the case is cleaned after each use, left open to dry between cleanings, and only using fresh, unexpired lens solution for both cleaning and storage is key to warding off unwanted bacterial and microbial growth.
