Every country in the world has its own unique quirks and traditions, and what seems normal to you may seem weird to somebody else. As someone who attended school in both Europe and the United States, I have always found American schools to be completely different than in other parts of the world. Much like the rest of the world, who grew up watching American movies as a kid, this led to the question: Is that really what life is like in the United States? #1: Don’t Forget Your Hall Pass!
American schools definitely practice different rules, one of which includes a hall pass. Students who need to go to the bathroom, for example, or leave class for a particular reason are required to carry a hall pass, which grants them permission to be outside of class.
This may seem odd or strange to non-Americans based on the simple fact that schools in other countries and parts of the world simply allow students to go to the bathroom freely without having to worry about a piece of paper or getting special permission to roam the hall.
