Joe Namath – 1965 Topps
Making the first football appearance on our list is Joe Namath or “Broadway Joe.” The all-star quarterback began his NFL career with the New York Jets in 1965 and finished his career with the Los Angeles Rams in 1977. In his 140 games played he threw 173 touchdown passes, was a five-time Pro-Bowler, a Super Bowl champion, and was introduced into the Hall of Fame.
Broadway Joe Namath was an extremely popular player in the 1960s, especially when he led the Jets in defeating the highly favored Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III. It’s no wonder he was MVP that year and it’s also no wonder his card can go for $260,000 in mint condition.
