Jose Conseco – 1986 Donruss #39

Born in La Habana, Cuba, the Outfielder and designated hitter began his MLB career with the Oakland Athletics in 1985. By the time he retired in 2001, Conseco would play for the Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, New York Yankees, and the Chicago White Sox.

Conseco was an incredibly talented player. In 1986, he was Rookie of the Year, in 1988 he was the American League MVP, he was a four-time Silver Slugger, six-time All-Star player, and won two World Series championships. No wonder this Oakland Athletics rookie card sells for $1,000.
