Honus Wagner – 1911 T206
We’ve almost made it to the end of our list. The most expensive baseball card in the world is the T206 Honus Wagner. It’s so rare it’s the Holy Grail of baseball. Wagner, also known as “The Flying Dutchman,” played professionally from 1897 to 1917, mostly for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

His 1911 card was produced by the American Tobacco company, like many others during this time. Wagner demanded his card be pulled from the market. Legend has it he didn’t want kids buying cigarettes to get his card, but it could also be due to a disagreement over royalties. Either way, only a few made it into the public hand, making them incredibly rare. The estimated value for one of the puppies is $4 million.
