Jackie Robinson – 1948 Leaf
Jackie Robinson is a pillar in baseball history as well as American history because he broke the color line in the MLB. That’s not all he had to show for. During his 10 years with the Brooklyn Dodgers, he made six All-Star appearances, won Rookie of the Year in 1947, was MVP in 1949, won a World Series championship, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1962.
Robinson’s mark on history made his 1948 card extremely popular and valuable, especially for collectors. This 1948 card is also much scarcer than other cards of his from the 1950s. Prices vary depending on the condition, but a grade 8 sold in 2019 for just under $75,000.
