#10: The Cyclomer
Bearing six buoyant contraptions, the Cyclomer, dubbed as “The Amphibious Bike”, was a marvel of dual-nature design, crafted to conquer both terra firma and Neptune’s realm. However, its performance was far from impressive. On land, it lumbered awkwardly; in water, it posed a perilous risk. Despite its lack of popularity, this quirky, multi-terrain velocipede still proudly claims the accolade of being the pioneering contraption of its kind.
In the heart of Paris 1932, a curious invention was unveiled – the Cyclomer! These massive, hollow, white orbs, designed to roll like wheels and float like buoys, held a whimsical charm. While they may have been better suited for a quirky science experiment, their inventor dreamt of revolutionizing transportation. Alas, the Cyclomer faltered. Yet, its bold concept inspired others, paving the way for future inventors to succeed where the Cyclomer had stumbled.
