#3: Cone Mask
The inventor of these masks was on a mission, a quest to shield human faces from the wrath of Mother Nature, be it hailstorms or relentless rain. It seemed like such an ordeal that merely tilting one’s head down a few inches would not suffice! Now, isn’t that a peculiar yet fascinating solution to a seemingly simple problem?

This is a 1939 snapshot of two women in Montreal on the cusp of a looming snowstorm. Their faces are illuminated with joy and anticipation; they seem to relish the imminent snowfall. We can only hope their enthusiasm doesn’t result in any unfortunate mishaps, like an accidental poke in the eye while seeking shelter! Such is the infectious spirit of these women; it’s almost as if they’re challenging the storm to a dance-off!
