#22: Straight Lines
Russian figure skater, Yulia Lipnitskaya, makes this standing split look effortless. She began skating in 2002 at the age of four, and it paid off when she took home Gold in the Team Skating event at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics. She’s the youngest Olympic athlete ever to win gold!
She retired in 2017, citing ligament issues, and spent three months in treatment for an eating disorder. While she no longer competes, she works with fellow skater Elena Ilynikh coaching at Academy Ilinykh-Lipnitskaya and has performed in many ice-rink shows such as Cinderella and The Nutcracker.
