Let’s face it – millennials may have been raised by baby boomers, but there are stark contrasts between the two generations. A “generational gap,” if you will. For reference, boomers were born between 1946 and 1964 (they’re separated into two subgroups: Boomers I and Boomers II). Meanwhile, millennials are nestled within the 1981-to-1996-time frame. And Gen X is, once again, the forgotten generation. But this article isn’t about them. Working hard or hardly working?
Ask any restaurant or retail worker – most of the guff they receive daily most likely comes from the older populace. For some reason, they just have more demands. Maybe it’s because they have higher standards, but either way, the irony here does not elude us.
Yes, boomers. You can rest assured that this is factual because someone posted it on the internet. Perhaps it’s the generational divide that’s causing strife or boomers insisting that you “smile more.” Regardless, there’s a feeling that as a society, we work harder and harder as the years go by, and our jobs become a part of who we are.
