Japan wedding

As we mentioned earlier, in a Japanese wedding, the bride’s Kimono must be white, and it’s often pure white. We’ve discussed the traditional wedding clothes, but the wedding rituals are just as interesting. The wedding ceremony begins with a dinner hosted for the two families coming together (a rehearsal dinner of sorts), where they exchange gifts.

It is customary for each family to prepare a part of the wedding attire for the bride and groom, respectively. For example, the groom’s family bequeaths the bride with a sash she wears above the Kimono, and the bride’s family bestows the groom with a jacket he wears on top of his Kimono, called a ‘haori’‘.
