Mongolian bride

In a traditional Mongolian wedding, the happy couple wears a traditional clothing known as Deel, a robe or a tunic of sorts, that can be made from cotton, silk, wool or brocade. Often, the Deel is worn outside of towns by herders, while inside major towns it is used mostly by the elderly people.

The Deel is worn on special occasions and ceremonies, including a wedding ceremony. It has been around nomadic tribes of Central Asia for centuries now, and it seems as if it’s not going anywhere. The patterned clothing is shared by different ethnic groups around Central Asia, but it varies from one group to the other.
