Traditional Wedding Dresses From Around the World

July 5, 2017 by Lisa Turner

Balinese wedding, Indonesia

In Bali, Indonesia, wedding attire is quite extravagant, as you can see in the photo below. It is customary for the bride and groom to wear crowns made of gold. The entire wedding costumes are adorned with gold, and they are often colorful and include shades of red. The wedding attire is very rich and extravagant, like the wedding itself.

The event usually takes up to three days, full of religious rituals, ceremonies and parties. Needless to say, gold is a symbol of happiness, abundance and celebration. In the past, it was worn only by royalty, but today golden ornaments are worn at weddings by anyone who can afford it.
