Tibetan Bride
You might not be able to see her, but there’s a bride underneath all those layers of fabric and ornaments. The Tibetan bride wears a white wedding dress covered with aprons and robes in different colors. Personally, we don’t see the point of wearing a white wedding dress underneath, but hey, you can’t argue with tradition.
In Tibet, as well as in other countries, wedding traditions change from region to region, along with the wedding dress. As it turns out, there’s one custom that is common to different countries around the world, including Tibet: the day before the wedding, the bride and groom aren’t supposed to see each other at all (and on the day of the wedding, he can’t see her either, due to all the layers).
