Can’t Argue with That
Honestly, this kid’s answer is correct, even though it’s likely not what their teacher was looking for. While the mathematical difference between eight and six is two, this young student perfectly described their difference in appearance and shape. You’ve got to love the way kids take things literally.

Let’s hope their teacher gave them at least partial credit for their descriptive answer. From their correct answer for #4, it looks like they do have a handle on their subtraction skills as well. It seems poorly worded worksheets are pretty common, and they probably cause a lot of frustration for both students and teachers!
