Hot and Steamy
Want another way to eat on vacation? If you’re not up for ordering out or ordering in, you can make use of the electric kettle that most hotel rooms have. By sticking pretty much anything in there, you can have a hot meal. Looks like someone’s using it for corn and hot dogs–both foods that need a bit of boiling and then are ready to eat.

This may not be the intended use of a hot water kettle, and since it reaches a boil and then shuts off it’s no way to cook a soup or pasta. But for instant ramen or hot dogs, this could be a hack for travelling on a budget. (Or a hack for being really lazy. No judgement.)
