Mood Lighting
Some hotel lights come with a dimmer switch, and some have one setting: blinding. For times when you want a softer atmosphere, you can DIY it by covering the bright lamps with a colored shirt or scarf. Just make sure you don’t cause a fire hazard. Nothing ruins the mood like a screeching fire alarm and a fire extinguisher.

It might seem a bit like the “white trash” way to fix an annoyingly bright light bulb, but what else are you to do in a room that isn’t your own? For a romantic getaway or a chill evening, not every room comes equipped to your specifications. May as well use what you’ve got on hand and set the mood in style.
