The world is vast and full of unique traditions, and what may seem normal to you might come across as extremely bizarre to somebody else. As someone who attended school in both Europe and the United States, I have always found American schools to be completely different than in other parts of the world. Much like the rest of the world who grew up watching American movies as a kid led to the question, is that really how life is like in the states? From big yellow school busses to senior skip day, people are sharing all of the things they find to be strange about American schools. Leave a comment below if anything resonates!
Don’t Forget Your Hall Pass!
It is true that American schools definitely practice different rules, one of which includes a hall pass. Students who need to go to the bathroom for example or leave class for a particular reason are required to carry with them a hall pass which grants them permission to be outside of the class.
This may seem odd or strange to non-Americans based on the simple fact that schools in other countries and parts of the world simply allow the student to go to the bathroom freely without having to worry about a piece of paper or getting special permission to roam the hall.
