Times Mother Nature Reminded Us Who’s Boss

#8: When Lightning Strikes

The chances of humans getting struck by lightning are about 1 in 500,000. Although it’s really not likely, it’s still important to take safety precautions during a lightning storm. While humans can protect themselves from the natural elements, mailboxes sadly cannot. This poor mailbox was a victim of a lightning attack.

The metal of the box probably attracted the lightning, and it didn’t stand a chance against the power of nature. It’s pretty amazing how it got completely destroyed, but the plastic trash can is sitting next to the wreckage completely unscathed. Guess they won’t be getting any junk mail for a while, at least.
