Former High School Sweetheart
Although we are aware that the purpose of this story was to entertain us in a lighthearted fashion, the way it reads to us in the present day is a little disconcerting. This person’s great-grandmother went on a date with the man she would eventually marry when she was still a student in high school. In point of fact, the bus driver would end up becoming her future spouse. Many people have contacted us with questions. Which decade was he driving the bus in at the time? Because he had an interest in developing a deeper relationship with her. We are keeping our fingers crossed that there is not a significant age difference between them; it would be very odd.
The fact that the bus driver was interested became clear when he had a talk with the individual’s grandmother. Because of her fascination with the bus driver (may I ask again how old he was?), she asked her grandmother to act as her intermediary and have a conversation with him on her behalf. As was to be anticipated, things did not go as planned because he had his heart set on dating Grandma rather than the friend. Poor woman, I’m sure her companion wasn’t exactly happy about the situation.
