So it looks like they may have been onto something after all! Another Twitter user shared the story of how their grandparents first became romantically involved, which was strikingly similar to my own grandparents’ story. Their great-grandfather had a fling with their grandmother’s older sister, but the relationship didn’t go anywhere in the long run. In the end, it was for the best that they got divorced because their grandfather struck gold when he started dating “sister #2,” which is how the grandchildren refer to their grandmother.
Since then, their grandparents have celebrated more than half a century together as a married couple. They went as far as posting a picture from their grandparents’ wedding day, which they found to be so endearing that they felt compelled to show the world. They give off the impression of having a wonderful time! How did they show their appreciation for being put in contact with one another, and was it awkward between them?
