#26: Lord of the Rings
At first glance, this seemed like a tree trunk cut in the middle, providing us a glimpse of the inside of the trunk. Those rings inside a tree trunk mark how old a tree is. However, this isn’t a piece of wood but a paint stick. For over a year, an artist has used this stick to stir his paint.

This was the result when he finally cut the stick in the middle—after a year, the layers had dried in this pattern. This beautiful pattern has a name; the word “fordite” represents the process when paint (usually automotive paint) has dried and hardened enough to form a buildup of layers.
