#3: Beach Day
Naturally, people always enjoyed going to the beach, but it used to be a different experience back then – far from the realm of today’s bikini-clad Instagram feeds. Picture this: a sunny day, perhaps on one of the UK’s beaches, where beachgoers revel in the fun of the era, donning the day’s swim attire, a stark contrast to modern fashion.
The 1920s, or the Golden Twenties as Europe fondly refers to them, were a time of modesty and discovery. While Australians pioneered the Speedo, Europe adhered to more conservative ‘swimming costumes’ for both genders. It was an era that defined swimwear trends yet was distant from the minimalist styles we know today.
