#9: Progressive Clothes
From the beginning of the human race, there’s been a social consensus that women are in charge of all housework. What if I told you that all clothing could be washed by either gender? It’s true! Still, it’s nice to see a clothing company pointing that out so blatantly. Sometimes we need proof to wave in the faces of the nonbelievers. If this seems like a marketing campaign, you aren’t wrong.
P&G, Ariel’s parent company, did a survey and found that over 70% of children believed that women should do certain chores. They decided to start a campaign letting children (and men) know this isn’t the case. I’m glad they’re pointing out the disparity, but it’s somewhat sad they had to do so.
