#22: The Royal Mile, Edinburgh, Scotland – 1847 vs. 2021
There is something so magical about seeing an old photograph and comparing it to a modern-day picture of the same thing. Not only is it interesting to see the changes in surroundings, but the quality of the photos is often very different which can add a lot to how you relate to each photo.
The first picture of the Royal Mile in Scotland is so old it almost looks like a pencil drawing, but when you put it against the photo taken in modern-day Scotland it looks like almost nothing has changed except for the paving of the footpaths.
