23. Good neighbors
We want our house to be a warm and welcoming environment, and so we tend to care about our neighbors’ houses as well – at least, their exterior – since we want everything around around us to look pleasant. That’s why, if a neighbor neglects his garden, it might be our concern as well.
This Bob guy was probably nagging his neighbor about painting his fence – since the old, faded wood bothered him every time he passed by it – and the neighbor didn’t care for it. He decided to let him know what he thinks of his request, but not in a mean way, that might cause feuds, but with a passive aggressive message written on the said fence.
