Contrasting twins
Fraternal twins, unlike identical twins, do not have to look alike and may have about the same amount of DNA as typical siblings. Fraternal twins are formed when two eggs are fertilized at the same time by two sperm. Identical twins are more uncommon than fraternal twins.
Not your average fraternal twins, Lucy and Maria Aylmer are children of interracial parents. With ginger hair, pale skin, and blue eyes, Lucy couldn’t be more different than her sister Maria who has curly dark hair, darker-toned skin, and brown eyes.
