A Philadelphia woman found an interesting necklace at a local flea market. She purchased it because of unique it was. Three years later, the woman went to an art exhibit and saw a group of sculptures that looked similar to her necklace. Out of curiosity, the woman took her necklace to be authenticated by Calder University.
The necklace turned out to be the work of a sculptor named Andrew Calder. She put the necklace up for auction, where it sold for over two hundred fifty-seven thousand dollars. She would have never guessed that she was wearing a work of art around her neck for three years, It was a stroke of luck that she saw the exhibit.
