#24: Too Sensitive!
If you work in healthcare, you have to have a tough exterior shell. Healthcare workers are often in very stressful situations where they have to think fast and do what’s best for the patient. Any sensitivities and personal feelings need to be left at the door. This nurse unfortunately worked with someone who wasn’t aware that hurt feelings don’t matter as much as a patient’s life.
A patient was bleeding out in the operating room, and this nurse yelled at her coworker to stop mopping and run to the blood bank. This was a scary situation for everyone involved, so obviously, tensions were high, and there was a lot of yelling going on. This guy later filed a complaint that the nurse “hurt his feelings” when she yelled at him in the OR. Everyone thought it was dumb, and it’s a bummer that she had to get in trouble for ordering someone to save a life.
