#16: Not Worth the Dedication
When you work a retail job at the mall, you know you won’t be working there forever (hopefully). Part-time mall jobs are there to help you pay the bills, but we all know they’re just low rungs on the way up the career ladder. This district manager obviously wasn’t aware of that, because he was asking the most from his employees.
T.R. worked as a store manager or supervisor of some kind at a store in the mall. The power went out in the store, so he called his district manager to let him know he was closing the store early. Instead of being chill, he insisted that everyone stay and wait for the power to get fixed. T.R. went on to tell him the mall was on fire, but this manager was not phased at all! He really expected T.R. and the team to wait around and see if the mall would open after the fire was taken care of. No amount of Annie’s Pretzels or Spencer’s Gifts whoppie cushions are worth all that effort.
