There are many things in this world that you have to appreciate on some level but will still leave you shaking your head and asking why someone would devote time and effort to making them happen. Fortunately, there’s a subreddit for everything, and Awful Taste But Great Execution has given us quite a few gems of this sort throughout the years. Humans are one of the most unusual species on the planet, yet they pursue perfection with a will. This subreddit is evidence of that. Here are things that are correctly done, but you’ll ask yourself WHY repeatedly – why were they implemented in the first place? I have to confess that several of these are fascinating. Perhaps it’s because “Why not?” is all there is.
Rub a Dub
Regardless of your preference for lawn chairs, you must admit that this one is unique. It’s solid, waterproof, and quite elegant if you disregard the whole bathtub aspect. It was created by a person known as @AbChigz, who recycled and reused an old filthy bath.
The transformation was so impressive that his buddy, @IamMartyMarty, documented the trip in detail on Twitter and provided before-and-after pictures to prove it. Despite the aesthetics and inventiveness that went into it, let’s be honest: It can’t be enjoyable. A tub is impossible to unwind in when there isn’t any hot water to soak in.
