Bird, Hailstorm, or Lightning; Which is the Worst?
Let’s be honest: That’s a terrifying notion we’ve all had at least once in our lives. A lightning strike is the most common reason for a power outage. The system is set up to restore power and quickly rekindle the cabin after this blackout. Then it’s time for the birds. Birds have been known to smash into the nose or get drawn into the turbine, causing engine damage.
Noise is used to drive away birds to minimize the risk. The hailstorm then comes on—the weather hazard. A hailstorm is the most hazardous problem to face. Fortunately, weather radars are simple to interpret, and pilots may avoid dangerous conditions that might result in an accident.
