Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa is returned to The Louvre after the War
It’s no secret that war is destructive–even artwork isn’t safe. Many paintings were destroyed or damaged during World War I and II, but some survived thanks to the efforts of various groups. It’s surreal to see Mona Lisa on a ship in the middle of all the shiny walls in Louvre now.
