Water Jug Hack
I grew up in the south where we didn’t have many cold days. In fact, it wasn’t unusual to wear flip flops in the winter. Tell this to a northeasterner and they’ll look at you like you’re crazy. In the rare cold night when temperatures might hover around 30 degrees, everyone would go outside and put blankets on their plants. Isn’t that so cute?
Well, it turns out that there would have been an easier way than raiding the linen closet. Start collecting your leftover jugs of milk or orange juice and save them not for a rainy day- but a cold one. Putting the jug over your plants will help to capture warm air and protect the plants from a freeze that could knock them out.
