E.T. Phone Home (After Coffee)
It’s hard to believe but Steven Spielberg’s heartfelt family classic “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial” is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. In 1982 a cute little alien landed in a troubled boy’s bedroom. They became fast friends and the kid helped the alien escape from Earth and return to his home planet. This movie was one of the most definitive movies of the 80s.
Like Garbage Pail Kids, Cabbage Patch Kid dolls, Swatches, and Scratch & Sniff stickers, E.T. was part of any 80s kid’s psyche. So just imagine, 40 years later, this gentle alien from the past magically reappears in the form of a coffee stain on someone’s table. Being an 80s child myself, this is one of the very few times that I won’t say: you should have used a coaster.
