It is totally natural and normal for human beings to see faces in everyday objects. Our brains are just wired that way. This phenomenon is called pareidolia and it’s a product of our evolution. As children we used to see faces in objects all the time – we were happy to see friendly faces and we were terrified of monster-like shadows on our bedroom wall and of the wicked witch hiding in the curtain. Then we grew up and the truth is that most of the time we’re too busy to notice fascinating images hiding in the object around us.
But once you start looking, you see them everywhere. And not just random faces. You actually see animals and people you know. You see celebrities, movie characters and lots of other stuff. Sometimes you almost see a face but maybe an eye is missing and you need to help it along a bit (with a strategically placed roll of toilet paper for instance). That’s totally legit, but when a familiar face appears out of the blue – that’s the most fun. And when you find a really good one, you can’t not share it with the world. So let’s take a look at some truly great ones.
Real Life Pixie Dust
Ever wondered if fairies really exist or not? Ever had doubts about the tooth fairy for instance? Well, now there finally is solid photographic evidence that fairies do exist. Look at that little thing flying next to the daffodil. It’s plain to see that this is Tinker Bell – Peter Pan’s sweet little sidekick.
People with no imagination might rationally claim that this is a bug or a spider, but they are sorely mistaken. It is obvious that it’s Tinker Bell. She might be much smaller than we imagined her to be, after watching Disney’s animated version of “Peter Pan”, but she is no less magical.
