30. South Park – Mr. Hankey, The Christmas Poo
USA/Season 1/1997Aired on Comedy Central
directed and written by Trey Parker and Matt Stone
Eighteen years on, I believe I can even now compose with certainty that South Park remains the main TV show to revolve numerous Christmas scenes around a conscious bit of human fecal matter. South Park’s regularly utilized Christmas time to try different things with design: there’s the enlivened “Mr. Hankey’s Christmas Classics” music video assortment, and the severely brutal Happy Tree Friends-Esque “Forest Critter Christmas.”
It’s this more conventional (well, moderately) scene that takes the show’s Christmas crown, however: as the Jewish Kyle takes comfort in a fanciful talking bit of dung during the Christmas season, the whole town looks to dispense with Christmas inside and out, in an offer for absolute apparent sensitivity.
