#24: Destiny Has Other Plans
When we were kids, it seemed like everyone told us to follow our dreams, no matter what it took. An entire generation grew up thinking that absolutely anything was possible with little hard work. And whilst there is some truth to that statement, it takes more than just hard work to make it in this world.
While we would love for this to be true for everyone, it simply isn’t the reality in which we live. We all enter this world with different abilities, backgrounds, and privileges, which profoundly impact how we live. Denying the influence these things have on our lives is foolish. It is very important for children to feel loved and capable, but we can’t all be Superman.
