Pit It All In
Typically, when we have brought home an avocado from the grocery store and are cutting into it for the first time, the first thing we do is remove and discard the pit. But wait! Before continuing to top your lunch salad bowl, think twice. How you cut and prepare your avocado will change how well it keeps in the fridge.
Once you have cut your avocado and split it in half, leave the pit in and use the half without. Leaving the pit in will protect more of the avocado from the oxidizing process that causes it to go from green to brown.
