Tracy Austin then
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Tracy Austin became a tennis legend, as she grew up in a family of athletes. Her four siblings are all fellow tennis players, and they all grew up playing the sport. Austin broke a record and became the youngest US Open female champion ever when she won the title in 1979, at the age of seventeen. She won the title for the second time in 1981.
Over the course of her career, Austin won three Grand Slam titles and the mixed doubles title at the 1980 Wimbledon Championships, when she was eighteen years old. At the age of 29, Austin broke another record when she became the youngest tennis player to be introduced to the International Tennis Hall of Fame, in 1992.
