What Really Lives Under the Lake at Loch Ness?
The Scottish Highlands have not been exempt from sightings of the renowned enigmatic creature, the Loch Ness Monster, affectionately known as Nessie. Dating back to the earliest recorded report in a book written in 565 AD, accounts of people claiming to have seen the monster continue to surface even in contemporary times.
Despite numerous individuals who once purported to offer evidence of the monster’s existence recanting their claims, with some admitting to fabricating the entire story, a considerable number of people still hold firm beliefs in the existence of the giant lake monster. In 2019, a team of researchers analyzed Loch Ness lake water and examined samples from every creature found within. Their findings concluded that the only creature inhabiting the lake resembling the monster is, in reality, ordinary eels.
