Orville’s Last Flight
It’s widely acknowledged that Orville Wright, one of the brothers credited with inventing the world’s first successful motor-operated airplane, made significant contributions to aviation history.
In 1944, 40 years after the Wright brothers’ pioneering flight, Orville Wright took to the skies once more, this time aboard the Lockheed Constellation. According to Wright, the prototype plane’s wingspan of 123 feet exceeded the distance covered in his initial flight of 120 feet.
