Paternal Genes Determine Biological Sex

It is widely accepted that our DNA is equally divided between our parents, a 50-50 split from our mother and father. Yet, the influence of these genes on our traits and characteristics is not shared equally. Surprisingly, the determining factor of a person’s biological sex is the father’s genetic contribution. This is due to the dominance of the male chromosomes over the female’s, which are recessive. Hence, the father’s genes play a pivotal role in determining the biological gender of the offspring.

Undoubtedly, one’s biological sex doesn’t dictate their gender identity. A significant number of individuals are labeled male or female at their birth, but it doesn’t inevitably imply they will relate to those gender roles as they grow.
