Small traffic on a miniature highway
Children in Copenhagen may learn about road safety at a miniature traffic playground. In Denmark and the Netherlands, traffic playgrounds have been popular since the 1950s. Traffic simulators include everything from traffic lights and signs to bike lanes and petrol stations. There is a staff member on duty at all times so that children can get help learning how to ride a bike. By the time they are six or seven years old, many Copenhagen students are used to riding their bikes to and from school.
This low-traffic playground offers a safe environment for kids to learn in while still allowing them to have fun.
