Not Enough Chlorophyll
If you still remember what you studied in high-school biology class, then you’ll probably recognize what’s going on here. This transparent leaf is the result of a lack of chlorophyll, which gives leaves and stems their luscious green color. Somehow, this leaf is missing every last pigment, which makes it an incredibly rare finding.
At first, we thought we were looking at an ice imprint of a leaf, but it turned out to be something even scarcer. If anyone can tell us what causes a leaf to lose its chlorophyll, we’d love to hear what you have to say.
