Haggis
Haggis is the national dish of Scotland that has been banned in the U.S as the FDA had banned this food item in 1971. Why? Because haggis is actually made from sheep’s heart, liver, and lungs, mixed with spices and oatmeal and served inside a sheep’s stomach. FDA said that livestock’s organs will not be used as human food in the country.
While haggis may be popular in Scotland, Americans cannot get their hands on this dish. The Scottish government hopes that the ban will be lifted one day so that the U.S can enjoy their national dish too.
