Redfish
Just like many other sea creatures, the consumption of redfish has been banned in America solely for the reason of its declining population. Redfish have been harvested since the 1980s for their flavour. But, the popularity of Redfish led to its decline in the population.
However, you can still sample this fish in Mississippi, which is the only state which is allowed to sell Redfish. It is only for the good of the redfish population that U.S Regulations has enforced this ban. You cannot harvest this particular fish in other states as well.
