This commenter must not have worked in a customer service job before. Being “promoted to the customer” is probably one of the best promotions in the career field or the worst—it depends on how you look at it. Only a few select people would see this as a demotion. I mean, am I right? Huh, maybe it’s just us.

In reality, this is a great way to see the different reactions people will have depending on how they are being talked to. The nicer you are to someone, the better their reaction will be, even if it’s when they’re losing their job. So maybe next time, try saying, “Scott, You’re being promoted to the viewer.”
