#38: Sherry Magie – 1909-11 T206
Sherry Magee played left field in the MLB from 1904 through 1919 with the Philadelphia Phillies, the Boston Braves, and finally the Cincinnati Reds. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Magie was one of the most prominent ball-hitters in the dead-ball era. Although he was a great player during his time, that isn’t the reason why this card is so rare.

As you might have already noticed, there’s an error on the card. A white-border Sherry Magie card was printed with an error—his last name was spelled incorrectly, as Magie rather than Magee. Since the error was caught quickly, not many cards were printed, which made these cards quite rare. Card enthusiasts would tell you this is one of the most famous error cards out there.
