And while this might be a shared fear among many different people, it is assumed that it isn’t people’s own fault for aging, considering it is something natural that occurs.

Well, it doesn’t seem like people were as understanding in the 1940s when it came to naturally aging… According to this ad, if you let yourself go, and began having “middle-aged” skin, then if your husband wanted to leave you, it was his prerogative. This messaging might still exist today, but at least it isn’t so blatant.
